I like the quiet that comes after a needle is removed from the vinyl. It feels nice. I don't get that satisfaction with modern music. Like the sound made such an impression on you when it was on, that now life is missing something because it's off. I'm going to miss it when I hit the road. The albums above have been my daily digest.

good call mr. sanchez
great tunes, man. maybe you should use your rockstar power to convince the labels that we need all the Coheed albums in a vinyl box set once you guys finish
I agree with Matt. More artists should release their records as vinyls along with CDs. We are losing the battle to digital outlets though. itunes will soon overtake record stores and Steve Jobs will own the fucking world of music. My parents' record player only has 2 settings: soft and LOUD. Luckily we are all fans of Zep and Queen, so there is no dispute as to which setting the album gets played on...and that setting is loud.
Grew up on the band. Talent, talent, and more talent. Beautiful music. The soundtrack of dreams...Of course their version of "I Shall Be Released" is awesome. That's one of my favorite songs, so I about lost my brain in a Beatlemania-esque fit when you started it up at Neverender.
Robbie Robertson is still doing some cool shit - I like The Underworld of Redboy album. Check it out if you haven't already.
I grew up at the time where tapes and CDs are getting more famous and vinyls are starting to get rare already. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested at vintage stuff. I mean, my elders still have those until now.
I haven't heard the entire discography of Bob Dylan and The Band. I know, I'm pretty lame. Thanks for the recommendation, Mr. Sanchez.
Vynil always makes me feel like a little 5 year old kid again... I remember my parents always playing it back in Puerto Rico.
=]
It brings me great comfort when I hear music played like that, whether it be Celia Cruz, or Pink Floyd...
I <3 it.
I'm with you on that. I've started a Vinyl collection, mixture of my Dad's old prog LPs and some new ones that I've acquired. Love it.
I love vinyl. I have NWFT on vinyl, i brought it to my grandparents house and put it on their record player and they loved it. So even old people love Coheed
Who could resist loving Coheed? Honestly!
Anywho, good choices there, Claudio! Great to see my hero defending the faith!
you know if you know where to look, you can get ridiculously high quality vinyl rips, in digital format. granted this doesn't replace the physical act of playing a vinyl album, but it's the next best thing. the crackle and pop and the beginning of a new side is one of my favorite sounds, and i can get that from my computer now.
although i feel like i'm cheating.
Dylan's live version of "Lay Lady Lay" with the band is fantastic.
*Checks for inanity....*
Holy Coincidence, I have those two in Vinyl too.
I agree, there's just something about vinyl!
Oh, while I'm here, I suppose I could pimp my blog. Go read my blog, it's shit!
greatest album on vinyl in my opinion us Pink Floyd Umma Gumma. Great Jam just to listen to sit back and relax. On a side note GOING TO SEE COHEED AND CAMBRIA IN GREENSBORO AND CHARLOTTE IN FEBRUARY! Your the man Claudio hope I get to meet you and get and autograph.
Epic Win.
Also does your "About Me" seriously state that you write comics that nobody likes? I've read all of them i can get my hands on. I love them. If you wrote a comic about a bowl of shit, i'd read it.
It's sort of freaky that I just rediscovered Highway 61 Revisited a couple of nights ago. I need to get something to play vinyl with, especially since I have NWFT on vinyl. I've been on a Dylan kick recently, along with others in a similar vein, like Townes Van Zandt and good ol' Mr. Cash.
Rock on.
About the comics. I Agree with chris I would also read one about a bowl of shit. Claudio could make it work im sure. I think Hollywood should make a movie about the graphic Novels. "The Amory Wars in theaters soon." When I here these words muttered by a deep spoken voice over artist followed by Apollo barking, I can die a happy man. Well after I watch all of them and buy them on bluray I can die a happy man.
Electric Ladyland on vinyl is epic.
Neil Young-Tonights the Night
Kiss-Dressed to Kill
Rolling Stones-Sticky Fingers
To Donovan:
In a time *heartbeat and wind sound fx*
When nothing is as it seems *heart beats faster*

Will risk love, *flash of Newo, heart beats faster*
Family, *flash of Kilgannons, FASTER!*
and the universe *flash of worlds colliding, heart beats FASTER!!*
to save....us....all....*heartbeat stops....pause....Crowing scream*
Coming Soon: The Amory Wars
It'll rock your faces off, bitch-tits.
So much for not commenting with something completely ridiculous.
I just creamed a little I'm sure of if it. Hopefully Claudio will read this and get the wheels turning.
ah this reminds me of the beginning of Detroit Rock City when the mom puts on the record and KISS comes blaring out. I love that movie :)

Omfg popn, that was amazing. I hope it comes to reality...I would see it twice a day every day until it was out of theatres. Then i'd buy a Blu-ray player and buy the Blu-ray and DVD versions and watch them both. I'd also buy the soundtrack...
And i'd buy it on Itunes and put it on my Ipod and watch it in AP Statistics every day. Way better use of my time.
How I wish I had a turntable, I have vinyl but I don't have any means to listen to it!
My oldest kid is getting ready to go backpacking down to & thru the south & to California and we were just talking about how it's too bad he can't take "that vinyl sound" with him. There's nothing quite like it. He's choosing JUST 10 CDs to take with him and "Highway 61 Revisited" is up for consideration, appropriate because he plans to travel the Blues Highway and go to The Crossroads...and plus it's just a perfect album.
Haha popnfresh, hysterical!!!!
Hey, Claudio, forgot to mention - the best version I've heard so far of "I Shall Be Released" is Joe Cocker's from Woodstock. Maybe a weird choice, but that one takes the cake. Highly recommended! Also Nina Simone; both are very soulfull!
I want a record player... I'm a victim of the modern age, Mr. Sanchez! Goddamn my ipod to hell!!!
anyway I started writing music and Coheed's been a big influence on me, on both the words' and sounds' ends of things. So thanks and if you're ever not busy (haha... hahahahaha) feel free to hit my page up and check some of it out. Be safe dude and can't wait to see you on the road again! And if you ever hear of a band called Piratas and you dig em, feel free to take us on tour ;) lol worth a shot
I have one vinyl record, and it's PINK FLOYD "The Wall."
My roommate in college had a record-player.
Absolutely amazing though.
Playing "The Wall" iss an experience of its own.
Maybe someday when I own a home I'll start a collection.
There's a great place here in Portland, Maine where they sell a shiz-load of records.
half of me is sad you have to leave, but the other half is pumped to see you guys. I had a quick question, If I want to read your comics/amory wars story (which is amazing from what I have read so far)what should I buy? i bought the second stage turbine blade book which was released last year.
DrewAmongTheFence, try searching at CobaltAndCalcium.com... or wikipedia... or some other helpful resource :-D
www.theamorywars.com is helpful too.
Let's start a retro-revolution and bring all the cool stuff from the past back.
Vinyls, hot pants, and mullets.
Im a barber believe me mullets are back. Vinyls never died. Oh and hot pants...well its hot pants.
Claudio clearly has one of the best tastes in music ever. Don't be a victim to shitty music.
To "Chris" and "Doe, a Dale, a female Dale": Thank you for reading my insanity.
Everyone: Pick up Deep Purple's "Machine Head" on vinyl. If only for Highway Star and Space Truckin'
I miss vinyl. My first was a 45 of "Night Owls" by the Little River Band, but my favorite was MJ's "Off The Wall." It pains me that I don't have them anymore. But I do have the soundtrack to "Trick or Treat," the best dead-rocker-comes-back-to-life movie ever!
