The Darkness To Disney

What does one talk about when getting involved with the world's number one shit talking machine?

This is the question I've been asking myself when thinking about starting a blog at the turn of this New Year. What DO I talk about? Gossip and celebrities! Nah, too easy. Besides, I could care less about what anyone does with his or her time. Plus, it's never been my ambition to be a journalist for STAR or National Enquirer so why waste the time. I'm not one for fashion either. My closet is overflowing with more of the same black jeans and t-shirts from Wal-mart than anyone alive. "You brought the darkness to Disney.” That’s what I told my fiancĂ© when passing the Magic Kingdom a week ago. She, along with her mother & my uncle, thought it would be great for me to experience the happiest place on earth at the busiest time of the year. I'd never been to Disney and this to some might appear as a neglected childhood, but I just never had the desire. Tell me I'd miss the opportunity to meet Kermit the Frog when I was 4 and you might find me driving to my folks for a good ole' fashioned ASS KICKING! That's right mom & dad, keep that one to yourself. Though I did enjoy most of my time at Disney & Hollywood Studios (See Picture Above), I couldn't help but think about the looming inevitability of the Neverender audio and its approval that was awaiting my return home.

My work is never done, and though it might seem like I'm complaining, I'm not. It's a reward to get to do what you love. I just wish I could make the people that enjoy it as much as I do a part of it. Which is why I'm creating this blog. Now let's hope I keep up with it.

Ain't no way sir. Blogs are like fish- You mean to take care of them, then suddenly, two weeks later, you wonder why it smells like you left out a box of frozen fishsticks on a radiator.

Dig Star Tours? If you go again, and you didn't eat at the restaurant, check out the Sci-Fi Drive In Dine In. Good food, kick ass milk-shakes, and they keeps clips from old 1950's b-movies rolling all day long.

Happy New Year Mr. Sanchez!

Neverender Los Angeles was one of the best experiences of my life good sir. Thank you for making such an awesome thing possible and really providing the soundtrack to my life in high school.

God, you're lucky you've only gone once.

Ive been to Disney World 14 times, and disneyland once.

Its fucking terrible after awhile.

Fun read. I hope you keep up with this too, Claudio.

Disneyland has got to be one of the most successful marketing gimmicks ever. Although I've seen real, crazy magic happen in Disney Sea. :P

Yeah! I appreciate you letting all of us into a little slice of your life. You're always so interesting and a bit of a complex thinker. I love the stuff you've written here, so far. I hope you get to stay up to date on it. Even if it's just a picture with caption or letting us know you're still alive. Coheed is always so good to their fans.

Good shit Claudio! I now have a new addiction. Def keep this coming! These are the things that keeps Cobalt alive & buzzing with fervor. Also, I don't know how you survived Disneyland at the height of the busy season. It would make someone like me go nuts with all the people running you over with their strollers.

Awesome blog Claudio, hope you can find the time to keep up with it! I have to say, I went to Disney when I was 5 or so, and I found it to be severely overrated. I couldn't get the Dumbo ride to work and I felt like an idiot.

Also, Neverender NYC was phenomenal! Can't wait for the DVD.

Good luck with keeping up the blog. I fail hardcore.

Disney at Christmas, are you crazy, I was there during down season (Halloween) and I am now scared of those big blue stroller's, my ankle's are also just recovering now! However their is nothing like going 60mph to "Dude looks like a Lady" plus if I could I would snag one of those wizard amps!

lol, this is cool! It's not that big of a deal that you haven't been to Disney before this, I used to think I would never get to go and now I've been there I don't know how many times. Theme parks don't seem all that spectacular after you've been to them a million times.

I imagine that further down the road, Co & Ca should open their own themed amusement park. It would be a much darker Disney. You can ride on the swarming dragonflies, man a jackhammer and shoot water into a clown's nose, or watch the parade with all of the Coheed characters in big furry suits. Fun for all.

(haha..haha)i wouldnt think you would ever complain about your life, To me your lifeis an ideal replica of kinda what i want to do. I want to be a musican and artist and a writer and combine them to create some sort of carrer out of it.

ahaha Rad picture! Disney land seems to be a magical place, but it is filled with large amounts of sweaty, somehow unaware(who always seem to bump into you) people.. lol .. just like walmart.. but atleast you made it out! Hope you had fun!

You missed nothing by staying away from that hellhole.
You know they designed it so that from nowhere inside can you see out? Also, the buildings get steadily smaller as you walk through, so it looks like the streets are a lot longer than they actually are. You're afraid of clowns, I'm afraid of Disney land. Good god that place gives me the willies.

Just make sure the audio sounds as close to what it would have been like if you were actually there, we want a concert dvd where you can actually hear the crowd, not full length music videos

I agree with rockband ^^^^^^^^^. I want to hear chanting! I want to relive that weekend over and over again! I'm sure we won't be let down however, I think you guys know what we want...can't WAIT til it comes out.

Don't feel too bad, I might have been to Disney twice. One time I was two, the other I was six. And that second time I was scared shitless on Thunder Mountain Railroad. I was six. I'm better now. Really.

Talking about the concert audio, as long as it sounds live...I'll be happy. I don't want the crowd to over take you guys, because well...You are that ones with all the talent. But hearing everyone singing along was pretty amazing.

I only made it to the IKSSE:3 in NYC. Skipped class to see you guys. Totally worth it. You guys were really fantastic. The audio will be amazing, and I can't wait for the DVD.

I resurrected this Blog for you, Claudio. Hears to you doing a better job at keeping one than I even have been able to. Good luck to you, because I think this is a really cool idea.

I have worked at Disney for many years. You can imagine my shock to see you walking through frontierland on my way in to work (so please, kind sir, excuse the deer in headlights look I gave you).

Thanks for being who you are, Claudio.

I'm sure I say this on behalf of everyone -- thank you very much for that!
You seem like the kind of guy who needs/enjoys his privacy, and yet you let us in here and there.

It's amazing, and I hope/think people treat you with more respect because of that.
Best of luck to you and yours, and I can't wait to find what you have to say/release/sell/share next!!!

And I SINCERELY hope you can find us JUST AS INTERESTING!

You should check out Star Wars weekends in May. It's the inly time to be at Disney World.

Disney is a funny time. You should REALLY go during the Food and Wine festival at Epcot. Disney is much more enjoyable after you have a large margarita on an empty stomach and then decide to rape and pillage the Norway section of Epcot after having a damn near spiritual experience on their lame little ride. Made even better later on when your almost-mother-in-law passes out on her electric wheelchair in France. :D

Last time I went to Disneyland, my father lost me. I had to of been 5 or 6. The jerk (Who is now in California Prison for car theft) was feeding me one of those delicious Frito Pies. It was the Fourth of July, and I remember turning to watch some fireworks--it was late, I was young, and there were oh so many beautiful colors. When I turned back to get another bite, I was alone. All I can remember is running around Disneyland at night, looking for my father. It surprises me how much you remember of your childhood when it was something so dramatic.

Asshole.

I hope you enjoyed it, though, and the Miss didn't lose you while feeding you Frito Pie.
